About
I’m David Hartery, an Irish marketer based in Berlin.
I work on the mechanics of buyer conviction: clear positioning, useful content, and GTM systems that move from awareness to decision without wasting everyone’s time.
I’ve led rebrands, website replatforming, and full-funnel execution across content, campaigns, and demand generation. My bias is simple: fewer slogans, more signal; fewer vanity metrics, more revenue logic.
Background
I grew up in Tramore, Co Waterford, Ireland. I was always interested in language and writing, and as a child I was involved in youth theatre and the Little Red Kettle theatre company. I was also drawn early to the intersection of business, economics, and politics, and was selected for Dáil na nÓg representing Waterford.
I later studied Law Plus at the University of Limerick, focusing on Economics and Politics. While there I was heavily involved in the student newspaper and university debating. From there I moved into journalism, working across national newspapers in Dublin including the Irish Daily Star, the Irish Independent, and the Evening Herald. I have also freelanced for publications including the Daily Mirror, The Phoenix, The New Socialist, and others.
I moved to Berlin in 2017 and have lived there since, working in marketing while carrying forward the same interest in language, argument, persuasion, and how people make decisions.
